'Older' in the Bible
“Now his older son was in the field; and when he returned and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.
and they are not all the children of Abraham because they are his descendants [by blood], but [the promise was]: “Your descendants will be named through Isaac” [though Abraham had other sons].
Do not sharply reprimand an older man, but appeal to him as [you would to] a father, to younger men as brothers,
to older women as mothers, to younger women as sisters, in all purity [being careful to maintain appropriate relationships].
Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in steadfastness [Christlike in character].
Older women similarly are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor addicted to much wine, teaching what is right and good,
