'Own' in the Bible
Hold them guilty, O God;By their own devices let them fall!In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out,For they are rebellious against You.
His mischief will return upon his own head,And his violence will descend upon his own pate.
The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made;In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught.
The Lord has made Himself known;He has executed judgment.In the work of his own hands the wicked is snared. Higgaion Selah.
Who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail;Our lips are our own; who is lord over us?”
In whose eyes a reprobate is despised,But who honors those who fear the Lord;He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
For it flatters him in his own eyesConcerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it.
Their sword will enter their own heart,And their bows will be broken.
You with Your own hand drove out the nations;Then You planted them;You afflicted the peoples,Then You spread them abroad.
For by their own sword they did not possess the land,And their own arm did not save them,But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence,For You favored them.
Their inner thought is that their houses are foreverAnd their dwelling places to all generations;They have called their lands after their own names.

Arise, O God, and plead Your own cause;Remember how the foolish man reproaches You all day long.
