'Parable' in the Bible
"You, therefore, listen to the parable of the sower:
He put before them another parable, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
He put before them another parable, saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took [and] sowed in his field.
He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took [and] put into three measures of wheat flour until the whole [batch] was leavened."
Jesus spoke all these [things] to the crowds in parables, and he was saying nothing to them without a parable,
Then he left the crowds [and] came into the house, and his disciples came to him saying, "Explain the parable of the darnel in the field to us."
But Peter answered [and] said to him, "Explain this parable to us."
"Listen to another parable: There was a man--a master of a house--who planted a vineyard, and put a fence [around] it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower, and leased it to tenant farmers, and went on a journey.
"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: Whenever its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer [is] near.
