'Persecute' in the Bible

“Why do you persecute me as God does?Why are you not satisfied with my flesh (anguish)?

“If you say, ‘How shall we [continue to] persecute him?’And ‘What pretext for a case against him can we find [since we claim the root of these afflictions is found in him]?’

“You have become harsh and cruel to me;With the might of Your hand You [keep me alive only to] persecute me.
