'Plants' in the Bible
Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so.
The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.
“Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;And you will eat the plants of the field;
“Under the lotus plants he lies down,In the covert of the reeds and the marsh.
“The lotus plants cover him with shade;The willows of the brook surround him.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vineWithin your house,Your children like olive plantsAround your table.

Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow.
I made you numerous like plants of the field. Then you grew up, became tall and reached the age for fine ornaments; your breasts were formed and your hair had grown. Yet you were naked and bare.
