'Robbers' in the Bible
The Lord was furious with Israel and handed them over to robbers who plundered them. He turned them over to their enemies who lived around them. They could not withstand their enemies' attacks.
The Lord raised up leaders who delivered them from these robbers.
So the Lord rejected all of Israel's descendants; he humiliated them and handed them over to robbers, until he had thrown them from his presence.
But the tents of robbers are peaceful, and those who provoke God are confident -- who carry their god in their hands.
Do you think this temple I have claimed as my own is to be a hideout for robbers? You had better take note! I have seen for myself what you have done! says the Lord.
