'Scepter' in the Bible

“The scepter shall not depart from Judah,Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,Until Shiloh comes,And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

“The well, which the leaders sank,Which the nobles of the people dug,With the scepter and with their staffs.”And from the wilderness they continued to Mattanah,

“I see him, but not now;I behold him, but not near;A star shall come forth from Jacob,A scepter shall rise from Israel,And shall crush through the forehead of Moab,And tear down all the sons of Sheth.

“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that for any man or woman who comes to the king to the inner court who is not summoned, he has but one law, that he be put to death, unless the king holds out to him the golden scepter so that he may live. And I have not been summoned to come to the king for these thirty days.”

When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king extended to Esther the golden scepter which was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter.

The king extended the golden scepter to Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king.

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

“Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;Ephraim also is the helmet of My head;Judah is My scepter.

“Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine;Ephraim also is the helmet of My head;Judah is My scepter.

The Lord will stretch forth Your strong scepter from Zion, saying,“Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”

For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the righteous,So that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong.

“The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked,The scepter of rulers

“Mourn for him, all you who live around him,Even all of you who know his name;Say, ‘How has the mighty scepter been broken,A staff of splendor!’

‘And fire has gone out from its branch;It has consumed its shoots and fruit,So that there is not in it a strong branch,A scepter to rule.’”This is a lamentation, and has become a lamentation.

“I will also break the gate bar of Damascus,And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven,And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden;So the people of Aram will go exiled to Kir,”Says the Lord.

“I will also cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod,And him who holds the scepter, from Ashkelon;I will even unleash My power upon Ekron,And the remnant of the Philistines will perish,”Says the Lord God.

Shepherd Your people with Your scepter,The flock of Your possessionWhich dwells by itself in the woodland,In the midst of a fruitful field.Let them feed in Bashan and GileadAs in the days of old.

“And they will pass through the sea of distressAnd He will strike the waves in the sea,So that all the depths of the Nile will dry up;And the pride of Assyria will be brought downAnd the scepter of Egypt will depart.

But of the Son He says,“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
