'Stone' in the Bible
and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:He will give His angels orders concerning you,and they will support you with their handsso that you will not strikeyour foot against a stone.”
What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:The stone that the builders rejectedhas become the cornerstone. This came from the Lordand is wonderful in our eyes?
[Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whoever it falls, it will grind him to powder!]”
Then He replied to them, “Don’t you see all these things? I assure you: Not one stone will be left here on another that will not be thrown down!”
and placed it in his new tomb, which he had cut into the rock. He left after rolling a great stone against the entrance of the tomb.
Then they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting the guard.
Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it.
