'Stood' in the Bible

He split the sea and brought them across;the water stood firm like a wall.

You covered it with the deepas if it were a garment;the waters stood above the mountains.

So He said He would have destroyed them—if Moses His chosen onehad not stood before Him in the breachto turn His wrath away from destroying them.

But Phinehas stood up and intervened,and the plague was stopped.
