'Stood' in the Bible

They have bowed down and fallen,But we have risen and stood upright.

For He spoke, and it was done;He commanded, and it stood fast.

Therefore He said that He would destroy them,Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,To turn away His wrath from destroying them.

Then Phinehas stood up and interposed,And so the plague was stayed.
