'Swept' in the Bible

Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. So this is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be:

Now as they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep. A violent storm swept over the lake, and they were taking on water and were in great danger.

But it was not long before a violent wind (called a northeaster) swept down from the island.
