'Think' in the Bible
the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David is honoring your father because he has sent consolers to you? Has David not sent his servants to you in order to search the city, to spy it out and overthrow it?”
The watchman said, “I think the running of the first one is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok.” And the king said, “This is a good man and comes with good news.”
But the princes of the sons of Ammon said to Hanun, “Do you think that David is honoring your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Have not his servants come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?”
So Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite spoke out and said,“I am young in years and you are old;Therefore I was shy and afraid to tell you what I think.
“Do you think this is according to justice?Do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s’?
“Behind him he makes a wake to shine;One would think the deep to be gray-haired.
O Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?Or the son of man, that You think of him?
if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it.
Then the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and He said to me, “Say, ‘Thus says the Lord, “So you think, house of Israel, for I know your thoughts.
