In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
Let the sea roar and all it contains, The world and those who dwell in it.
Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name:
"There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,
The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
