'Town' in the Bible

now behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) that my life may be saved.”

He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken.

Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar.

then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown.

Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the alien who is in your town, so that they may hear and learn and fear the Lord your God, and be careful to observe all the words of this law.

You who were full of noise,You boisterous town, you exultant city;Your slain were not slain with the sword,Nor did they die in battle.

For death has come up through our windows;It has entered our palacesTo cut off the children from the streets,The young men from the town squares.

“How the city of praise has not been deserted,The town of My joy!
