And the multitude said, This is Jesus, the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.

The woman saith to him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
And God hath set in the church, first, apostles, secondly, prophets, thirdly, teachers: afterward miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers?
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given us, whether it be prophesy, let us prophesy according to the analogy of faith:
to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.
And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers;
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And I say, through the grace which is given to me, to every one that is among you, not to think of himself above what he ought to think, but to think soberly, according to the measure of faith which God hath distributed to every one. Whereas he that prophesieth, speaketh to men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
