'Tumult' in the Bible
And when Jesus was come to the house of the ruler, and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a tumult,
but they said, Not in the feast, that there be not a tumult among the people.
And Pilate, seeing that it availed nothing, but that rather a tumult was arising, having taken water, washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am guiltless of the blood of this righteous one: see ye to it.
And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
And entering in he says to them, Why do ye make a tumult and weep? the child has not died, but sleeps.
For they said, Not in the feast, lest perhaps there be a tumult of the people.
