'Turn' in the Bible

I will devastate her vines and fig trees.She thinks that these are her wagesthat her lovers have given her.I will turn them into a thicket,and the wild animals will eat them.

Then the Lord said to me, “Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”

When their drinking is over,they turn to promiscuity.Israel’s leaders fervently love disgrace.

They do not cry to Me from their hearts;rather, they wail on their beds.They slash themselves for grain and new wine;they turn away from Me.

They turn, but not to what is above;they are like a faulty bow.Their leaders will fall by the swordbecause of the cursing of their tongue.They will be ridiculed for this in the land of Egypt.

I will not vent the full fury of My anger;I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim.For I am God and not man,the Holy One among you;I will not come in rage.
