'Warning' in the Bible
So take warning, Jerusalem, or I will abandon you in disgust and make you desolate, a place where no one can live."
The Lord said, "I appointed prophets as watchmen to warn you, saying: 'Pay attention to the warning sound of the trumpet!'" But they said, "We will not pay attention!"
But if you will not pay attention to this warning, I will weep alone because of your arrogant pride. I will weep bitterly and my eyes will overflow with tears because you, the Lord's flock, will be carried into exile."
While you were feeling secure I gave you warning. But you said, "I refuse to listen to you." That is the way you have acted from your earliest history onward. Indeed, you have never paid attention to me.
I sent my servants the prophets to you people over and over again warning you not to do this disgusting thing I hate.
