'Wise' in the Bible
For it is written:I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,and I will set aside the understanding of the experts.
Brothers, consider your calling: Not many are wise from a human perspective, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.
Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong.
No one should deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, he must become foolish so that he can become wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written: He catches the wise in their craftiness;
and again, The Lord knows that the reasonings of the wise are meaningless.
We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!
I say this to your shame! Can it be that there is not one wise person among you who is able to arbitrate between his brothers?
I am speaking as to wise people. Judge for yourselves what I say.
