¹ 该 撒 提 庇 留 在 位 第 十 五 年 ， 本 丢 彼 拉 多 作 犹 太 巡 抚 ， 希 律 作 加 利 利 分 封 的 王 ， 他 兄 弟 腓 力 作 以 士 利 亚 和 特 拉 可 尼 地 方 分 封 的 王 ， 吕 撒 聂 作 亚 比 利 尼 分 封 的 王 ，

¹ Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,

³ 他 就 来 到 约 但 河 一 带 地 方 ， 宣 讲 悔 改 的 洗 礼 ， 使 罪 得 赦 。

³ And he came into all the district around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins;

⁵ 一 切 山 洼 都 要 填 满 ； 大 小 山 冈 都 要 削 平 ！ 弯 弯 曲 曲 的 地 方 要 改 为 正 直 ； 高 高 低 低 的 道 路 要 改 为 平 坦 ！

⁵ ‘Every ravine will be filled,And every mountain and hill will be brought low;The crooked will become straight,And the rough roads smooth;

⁷ 约 翰 对 那 出 来 要 受 他 洗 的 众 人 说 ： 毒 蛇 的 种 类 ！ 谁 指 示 你 们 逃 避 将 来 的 忿 怒 呢 ？

⁷ So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

⁹ 现 在 斧 子 已 经 放 在 树 根 上 ， 凡 不 结 好 果 子 的 树 就 砍 下 来 ， 丢 在 火 里 。

⁹ Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

¹¹ 约 翰 回 答 说 ： 有 两 件 衣 裳 的 ， 就 分 给 那 没 有 的 ； 有 食 物 的 ， 也 当 这 样 行 。

¹¹ And he would answer and say to them, “The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.”

¹³ 约 翰 说 ： 除 了 例 定 的 数 目 ， 不 要 多 取 。

¹³ And he said to them, “Collect no more than what you have been ordered to.”

¹⁵ 百 姓 指 望 基 督 来 的 时 候 ， 人 都 心 里 猜 疑 ， 或 者 约 翰 是 基 督 。

¹⁵ Now while the people were in a state of expectation and all were wondering in their hearts about John, as to whether he was the Christ,

¹⁷ 他 手 里 拿 着 簸 箕 ， 要 扬 净 他 的 场 ， 把 麦 子 收 在 仓 里 ， 把 糠 用 不 灭 的 火 烧 尽 了 。

¹⁷ His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

¹⁹ 只 是 分 封 的 王 希 律 ， 因 他 兄 弟 之 妻 希 罗 底 的 缘 故 ， 并 因 他 所 行 的 一 切 恶 事 ， 受 了 约 翰 的 责 备 ；

¹⁹ But when Herod the tetrarch was reprimanded by him because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and because of all the wicked things which Herod had done,

²¹ 众 百 姓 都 受 了 洗 ， 耶 稣 也 受 了 洗 。 正 祷 告 的 时 候 ， 天 就 开 了 ，

²¹ Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened,

²³ 耶 稣 开 头 传 道 ， 年 纪 约 有 三 十 岁 。 依 人 看 来 ， 他 是 约 瑟 的 儿 子 ； 约 瑟 是 希 里 的 儿 子 ；

²³ When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli,

²⁵ 约 瑟 是 玛 他 提 亚 的 儿 子 ； 玛 他 提 亚 是 亚 摩 斯 的 儿 子 ； 亚 摩 斯 是 拿 鸿 的 儿 子 ； 拿 鸿 是 以 斯 利 的 儿 子 ； 以 斯 利 是 拿 该 的 儿 子 ；

²⁵ the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Hesli, the son of Naggai,

²⁷ 约 亚 拿 是 利 撒 的 儿 子 ； 利 撒 是 所 罗 巴 伯 的 儿 子 ； 所 罗 巴 伯 是 撒 拉 铁 的 儿 子 ； 撒 拉 铁 是 尼 利 的 儿 子 ； 尼 利 是 麦 基 的 儿 子 ；

²⁷ the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,

²⁹ 约 细 是 以 利 以 谢 的 儿 子 ； 以 利 以 谢 是 约 令 的 儿 子 ； 约 令 是 玛 塔 的 儿 子 ； 玛 塔 是 利 未 的 儿 子 ；

²⁹ the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi,

³¹ 以 利 亚 敬 是 米 利 亚 的 儿 子 ； 米 利 亚 是 买 南 的 儿 子 ； 买 南 是 玛 达 他 的 儿 子 ； 玛 达 他 是 拿 单 的 儿 子 ； 拿 单 是 大 卫 的 儿 子 ；

³¹ the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David,

³³ 拿 顺 是 亚 米 拿 达 的 儿 子 ； 亚 米 拿 达 是 亚 兰 的 儿 子 ； 亚 兰 是 希 斯 仑 的 儿 子 ； 希 斯 仑 是 法 勒 斯 的 儿 子 ； 法 勒 斯 是 犹 大 的 儿 子 ；

³³ the son of Amminadab, the son of Admin, the son of Ram, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah,

³⁵ 拿 鹤 是 西 鹿 的 儿 子 ； 西 鹿 是 拉 吴 的 儿 子 ； 拉 吴 是 法 勒 的 儿 子 ； 法 勒 是 希 伯 的 儿 子 ； 希 伯 是 沙 拉 的 儿 子 ；

³⁵ the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Heber, the son of Shelah,

³⁷ 拉 麦 是 玛 土 撒 拉 的 儿 子 ； 玛 土 撒 拉 是 以 诺 的 儿 子 ； 以 诺 是 雅 列 的 儿 子 ； 雅 列 是 玛 勒 列 的 儿 子 ； 玛 勒 列 是 该 南 的 儿 子 ； 该 南 是 以 挪 士 的 儿 子 ；

³⁷ the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan,
