Jacob Flees From Laban

²⁷ Why did you deceive me and slip away without telling me? If you had told me, I would have sent you on your way with rejoicing and singing to the music of tambourines and harps. ²⁸ and did not allow me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now you have done foolishly. ²⁹ It is in my power to do you harm. But the God of your father came to me this night. He said, 'Take care that you say nothing good or bad to Jacob.'
