John 8:12-20 - Jesus, The Light Of The World

¹² Again Jesus spoke to them, saying: I am the light of the world. He that follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

¹³ The Pharisees therefore replied to him: You testify about yourself. Your evidence is not true!

¹⁴ Jesus answered them: Even if I bear witness about myself, my testimony is true! I know where I came from and I know where I am going. You do not know where I came from or where I am going. ¹⁵ You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one. ¹⁶ Yes and if I judge my judgment is true. I am not alone for I am with the Father who sent me. ¹⁷ It is written in your law that the witness of two men is true. ¹⁸ I testify about myself and the Father who sent me testifies about me.

¹⁹ They said: Where is your Father? Jesus answered: You do not know me, nor do you know my Father! If you knew me you would also know my Father. ²⁰ He spoke these words at the treasury as he taught in the temple. No one tried to arrest him because his hour had not yet arrived.
