Ephesians 2:1-10 - Made Alive In Christ

¹ And you hath he made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins, ² in which ye formerly walked after the manner of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that still operates in the children of disobedience: ³ among whom also we were all conversant heretofore in our carnal desires, indulging the appetites of the flesh and of our imaginations; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others. ⁴ But God being rich in mercy, through his great love wherewith He loved us, ⁵ hath made us alive in Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (for by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together, ⁶ and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. ⁷ That in the ages to come He might shew the superabundant riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace ye are saved, through faith: and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not by works, that no one may boast: ⁹ for we are his workmanship, ¹⁰ created in Christ Jesus unto good works, for which God before prepared us, that we might walk in them.

⁶ Therefore as ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him; ⁷ rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught it, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

⁸ Take heed least any one make a prey of you by philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ: ⁹ for all the fulness of the deity dwelleth personally in Him. ¹⁰ And ye are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. ¹¹ In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision not performed by hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision which is of Christ: ¹² being buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are raised together with Him, through faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. ¹³ And when ye were dead in trespasses, and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, ¹⁴ and cancelled the obligation we were under by ritual decrees, which was grievous to us, and hath taken it quite away, even nailing it to his cross. ¹⁵ And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made them an open spectacle, triumphing over them by it.
