for they shall be an ornament of grace to your head and chains around your neck.

If they say, Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, we will watch secretly for the innocent without cause;

And they lie in wait for their own blood; they watch secretly for their own lives.

Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me;

instead they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of Jehovah.

They would have none of my counsel; they despised all my correction,

and they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own desires.

They will deliver you from the strange woman, the stranger who flatters with her words,

All who go in to her do not return, nor do they take hold of the paths of life,

for they shall add length of days, and long life, and peace to you.

and they shall be life to your soul and grace to your neck;

For they do not sleep, except when they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall.

For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble.

For they are life to those who find them, and health to all his flesh.

They do not despise a thief, if he steals to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;

so that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger who flatters with her words.

They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.

They who are of a perverse heart are hateful to Jehovah, but the upright in the way are His delight.

Without wisdom, purposes are defeated, but by many wise men they are established.

Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and they love him who speaks right.

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

All the brothers of the poor man hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him? He pursues them with words, yet they are lacking.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them, because they refuse to do judgment.

For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; they shall all be fitted in your lips,

Do not desire his delicacies, for they are deceitful food.

saying, They struck me; I was not sick; they beat me, but I did not know it. When I awaken, I will add more. I will seek it again.

When the wicked rise, a man hides himself, but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Four things are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:

the ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer;

the rock-badgers are not a mighty people, yet they make their houses in the rock;

the locusts have no king, yet they go forth by bands, all of them;

lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
