After Ahab died, Moab rebelled against Israel.

Gehazi, the prophet Elisha's servant, thought, "Look, my master did not accept what this Syrian Naaman offered him. As certainly as the Lord lives, I will run after him and accept something from him."

Hezekiah had said to Isaiah, "What is the confirming sign that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the Lord's temple the day after tomorrow?"

No king before or after repented before the Lord as he did, with his whole heart, soul, and being in accordance with the whole law of Moses.

But the Babylonian army chased after the king. They caught up with him in the plains of Jericho, and his entire army deserted him.
