Gad's descendants lived beside them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah:

So David went up at Gad’s word, which he spoke in the name of the Lord.

For their duty is to assist [the priests] the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in [caring for] the courtyards, the chambers, the purifying of all holy things, and any work of the service of the house of God,

All of these were descendants of Heman the king's seer, according to God's promise to exalt him, since God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

All these men were under their own fathers’ authority for the music in the Lords temple, with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of Gods temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king’s authority.

From the Levites, Ahijah was in charge of the treasuries of Gods temple and the treasuries of what had been dedicated.

And see, [you have] the divisions of the priests and Levites for all the service of Gods house, and every willing, skillful man will be with you in all the kinds of work for any kind of service. Also the officers and all the people will be entirely at your command.”

For the service of Gods house they gave 185 tons of gold and 10,000 gold coins, 375 tons of silver, 675 tons of bronze, and 4,000 tons of iron.

Then David said to the whole assembly, “Praise the Lord your God.” So the whole assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors. They bowed down and paid homage to the Lord and the king.
