The man stretched it out, and it had become sound like the other. But when the Pharisees came out, they consulted together how they might destroy him.

He told them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven," he said, "is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;

In like manner the chief priests, too, with the Scribes and elders, kept taunting him.

They were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them with authority, not like the Scribes.

The man rose, at once took up his cot, and went out before them all; at which they were all astounded, and gave God glory, saying, "We never saw anything like this."

"Look," said the Pharisees to him, "Why are they doing on the Sabbath Day what is against the law?"

And like the sowing upon 'stony ground' are those who, whenever they hear the Word, at once receive it with joy,

As Jesus was walking out of the Temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, "Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and buildings these are!"

For those will be days of suffering the like of which has never been from the beginning of God's creation until now, and never shall be.

"But he who listens but does not do, is like a man who built a house upon the soil, without foundations, against which the torrent burst, and at once it fell in, and the ruin of that house was great."

But when Jesus heard this he was astonished and he turned and said to the crowd that was following him, "I tell you that not even in Israel have I found faith like that."

"To What are they like, they are like children sitting in the market-place and calling to one another. "'We have piped to you,' they say, 'and you have not danced; we have wailed, and you did not cry.'

Now it happened that one of these days he got into a boat, And him his disciples, and he said to them, "Let us cross to the other side of the lake."
