Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?


Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoics, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? some others, He seemeth to be a setter-forth of strange gods: because he preached to them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again concerning this matter.


For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

Then came to him certain of the Sadducees (who deny that there is any resurrection) and they asked him,


Now if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not raised. And if Christ is not raised, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. read more.
And indeed we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified concerning God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not, if in truth the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
