I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.


For sin, finding opportunity in the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good. Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But it was sin, working death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, so that through the commandment sin might become sinful beyond measure. read more.

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you what I wish you to be, and you may not find me what you wish me to be; I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will have to mourn over many of those who sinned before and have not repented of the impurity, immorality, and lewdness which they have practiced.

But in the following instructions, I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse. For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized. read more.
Therefore when you meet together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat, for in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal, and one is hungry and another is drunk.



For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it.


But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a house divided against itself falls.
