The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;
By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you. "I command these things to you, that you may love one another. If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do to you because of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father. But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.' Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
But as it is written, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined the things which God has prepared for those who love him. But to us God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
"I have said all these things to you so that you may be kept from stumbling. They will put you out of the synagogues, but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think that he is offering a service to God. They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me. read more.

Such confidence we have through Christ toward God; not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; who also made us sufficient as servants of a New Covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

For we did not follow cunningly devised tales, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree. God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
