This is now the third time that I am coming to visit you. The testimony of two or three witnesses must uphold an accusation. (Deuteronomy 19:15)

Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia, for I do pass through Macedonia. And it may be that I will stay there and winter with you, that you may send me on my journey where ever I go. I will not see you now by the way; but I plan to stay a while with you, if the God permits.

The judges must make a thorough investigation. If it is found that the witness lied when he testified against the other Israelite, do to him what he planned to do to the other person. Get rid of this evil. When other people hear about this, they will be afraid. Never again will such an evil thing be done among you. Have no pity on him: Take a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, and a foot for a foot.

If your brother does wrong to you, go to him in private. Clearly explain his error between you and him. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother back. If he does not listen to you, take one or two more people with you. Two or three witnesses may prove every case.

The Pharisees therefore replied to him: You testify about yourself. Your evidence is not true! Jesus answered them: Even if I bear witness about myself, my testimony is true!
