Then the LORD appeared unto Abram and said, "Unto thy seed will I give this land." And he built an altar there unto the LORD which appeared to him. The children gather sticks, the fathers kindle the fire, the mothers knead the dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven. They pour out drink offerings unto strange gods, to provoke me unto wrath.

And the number of them was twenty three thousand, of all the males from a month old and above. For they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

And on the other side Jordan by Jericho, even on the east side of Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness with her suburbs, Jahzah with her suburbs, Kedemoth with her suburbs, Mephaath with her suburbs.
