Silver » Refining of
I will bring the third part into the fire. I will refine them, as silver is refined, and I will test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say: 'It is my people!' They will say: 'Jehovah is my God!'
He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. He will purify the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer to Jehovah offerings in righteousness.
The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold but Jehovah proves the heart.
Take away the dross from the silver and it will go to the refiner.
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a broken pottery covered with silver dross.

The bellows blow fiercely and the fire consumes the lead. The refining goes on in vain, but the wicked are not separated. They call them rejected silver, for Jehovah has rejected them.
