Matthew 13:20-21

Judges 7:1-8

Gideon and all his men got up early and camped beside Harod Spring. The Midianite camp was in the valley to the north of them by Moreh Hill. Jehovah said to Gideon: You still have too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will separate them for you. If I tell you a man should go with you, he will go. If I tell you a man should not go with you, he will not go. Gideon took the men to the water. Jehovah told him: Separate everyone who laps up the water with his tongue like a dog, from everyone who gets down on his knees to drink. There were three hundred men who scooped up water in their hands and lapped it. The others got down on their knees to drink. Jehovah said: I will rescue you and give you victory over the Midianites. Because of the urgency of the king's commandment and the exceeding hot furnace, the flame of the fire killed the men who delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the blazing furnace. Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished. He hurried to speak to his counselors: / Did we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered: True O king. He said: Look, I see four men walking in the midst of the fire. They are not hurt! The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods! Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning blazing furnace. He called out: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God come here! Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire. The satraps, deputies, governors, and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men. They saw that the fire had no power upon their bodies. Not a single hair on their head was singed. Neither were their clothes changed and they did not smell like fire.

Acts 7:59-60

They stoned Stephen. He called out: Lord Jesus, receive my spirit! He kneeled down and cried with a loud voice: Jehovah, do not charge this sin against them. After saying this he fell asleep in death.
