salt is good, but if the salt has lost its savour, with what shall it be recovered? it would be fit neither for the land, nor for the dunghil, but only to be thrown away. he that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Ye are the salt of the earth; but if the salt become insipid, how shall it recover its savour? it is no longer fit for any thing, but to be cast out and trod under foot.
such a one shall be consumed by fire, but the offering that is salted shall be preserv'd from corruption. salt is good, but if the salt become insipid, how shall it recover its savour? don't lose your seasoning, nor your peaceable behaviour to one another.
