Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him (for he was naked) and cast himself into the sea.

Then she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrays thee?

When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!



He that says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.

We know that we are passed from death unto life, in that we love the brethren. He that does not love his brother abides in death. Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. In this we have known the charity of God because he laid down his life for us; we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. read more.
But whosoever has this world's goods and sees his brother have need and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how does the charity of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God. He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity. In this was the charity of God demonstrated in us, in that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. read more.
In this does the charity consist, not because we had loved God, but because he loved us and has sent his Son to be the reconciliation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.


Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou should do for us whatever we shall ask. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one at thy right hand and the other at thy left hand in thy glory.


When Jesus therefore saw his mother and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!


and James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, whom he surnamed them Boanerges, which is The sons of thunder;


And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did?


And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name and he does not follow us; and we forbade him because he does not follow us.
