Abasement » Of the proud foretold
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: he that has a haughty look and a proud heart will I not endure.
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the boundary of the widow.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everyone that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there will I bring you down, says the LORD. If thieves came to you, if robbers by night, (how are you cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some grapes? How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his treasures sought out! All the men in your confederacy have forced you even to the border: the men that were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you; they that eat your bread have laid a trap under you: there is no understanding of it. Shall I not in that day, says the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mountains of Esau? And your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mountains of Esau may be cut off by slaughter. For your violence against your brother Jacob shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever. In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even you were as one of them. But you should not have looked down on the day of your brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress. You should not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, you should not have looked down on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; Neither should you have stood at the crossroads, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither should you have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress. The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.
And if your eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
