Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

Then said he to me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD, we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Yes, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

And being assembled with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard from me.

From men who are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, who have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.

A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. read more.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart. Commit thy way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass. And he will bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noon-day. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yes, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
