Now Peter sat without in the hall. And one of the maid-servants came to him saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth. read more.
And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man. And after a while they that stood by, came and said to Peter, Surely thou art also one of them; for thy speech discovereth thee. Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who said to him, Before cock-crowing thou wilt deny me thrice. And he went out and wept bitterly.

And they that had apprehended Jesus, led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. But Peter followed him afar off to the high priest's palace, and going in, sat with the officers, to see the end.

And as Peter was in the hall below, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest. And seeing Peter warming himself, she looked on him and said, Thou wast also with Jesus of Nazareth. But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou meanest. And he went out into the porch, and the cock crew. read more.
And the maid saw him again, and said to them that stood by, This is one of them. And he denied it again. And a little after, those that stood by, said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. Then he began to curse and to swear, I know not this man of whom ye speak. And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the cock crow twice, thou wilt deny me thrice. And he covered his head and wept.

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied and said, I am not. One of the servants of the high priest (being kinsman to him whose ear Peter had cut off) saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him? Peter denied again, and immediately the cock crew.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest, and with him were assembled all the chief priests, and the elders and scribes. And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest, and sat with the officers, and warmed himself.

Then took they him, and led him, and brought him to the high-priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were sat down together, Peter sat down among them. But a certain maid seeing him as he sat by the light, and looking earnestly upon him, said, This man also was with him. read more.
But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. And after a while another saw him and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. And about one hour after, another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him, for he is a Galilean. And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou meanest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. And the Lord turning looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before cock-crowing, thou wilt deny me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

And led him away to Annas first (for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.) Caiaphas was he who had counselled the Jews, that it was expedient one man should die for the people. Now Simon Peter followed Jesus, and another disciple. That disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. read more.
But Peter stood at the door without: therefore the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out, and spake to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. Then saith the maid, who kept the door, to Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not. And the servants and officers, having made a fire of coals (for it was cold) stood and warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them and warmed himself.
