Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; And the years of thy life shall be many.
They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall receive instruction.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not hearken unto them;
My son, despise not the chastening of Jehovah; Neither be weary of his reproof: For whom Jehovah loveth he reproveth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
He is in the way of life that heedeth correction; But he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art reproved of him; For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chasteneth not?
And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt.
saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.
The Lord Jehovah hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.
And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.
