The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works; There is none that doeth good.
I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; For he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: But let them not turn again to folly.

Turn you at my reproof: Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you; I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man hath regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, And would none of my reproof: I also will laugh in the day of your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as a storm, And your calamity cometh on as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish come upon you.
Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this:
Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God:
And the Lord said unto him, Now ye the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter; but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness. Ye foolish ones, did not he that made the outside make the inside also?
because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.
Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:
but shun foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and fightings about law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear Jehovah our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; that preserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good from you.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother.
O ye simple, understand prudence; And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart.
