You shall rise up before the gray headed, and honor the face of the old man, and fear your God: I am the LORD.
And even to your old age I am he; and even to gray hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Then Abraham died at a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
Hearken unto your father that begat you, and despise not your mother when she is old.

The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sensible, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
That the aged men be sensible, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father; and the younger men as brothers; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come.
And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spoke this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you go.
I remember the days of old; I meditate on all your works; I ponder on the work of your hands.
He takes away the speech of the trustworthy, and takes away the understanding of the aged.
Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
