But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how I am distressed until it is accomplished!

Deep [is] calling to deep at the thunder of your waterfalls. All your breakers and your waves have passed over me.

Save me, O God, because waters have come up to [my] neck. I sink in [the] mud of the deep, and there is no foothold. I have come to watery depths, and [the] torrent floods over me.

Your wrath presses upon me, and you afflict [me with] all your waves. Selah

But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" And they said to him, "We are able." So Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup that I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with,

Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we may live {a new way of life}.

For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Therefore put to death {what is earthly in you}: sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustful passion, evil desire, and greediness, which is idolatry,

And also, corresponding to [this], baptism now saves you, not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Noah {was six hundred years old} when the flood waters came upon the earth. And Noah and his sons and his wife, and the wives of his sons with him, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.

in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, by the removal of the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which also you were raised together with [him] through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

So you shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and {do not be stubborn}.

For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all went through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,

And the {Israelites} entered the middle of the sea on the dry land. The waters [were] a wall for them on their right and on their left. And [the] Egyptians gave chase and entered after them--all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his charioteers--into the middle of the sea. And during the morning watch, Yahweh looked down to the Egyptian camp [from] in the column of fire and cloud, and he threw the Egyptian camp into a panic.

And now why are you delaying? Get up, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name!'

And some of you were these [things], but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

for as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free [persons], and all were made to drink one Spirit.

The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. And it will be [that] everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.'

and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,

who were formerly disobedient, when the patience of God waited in the days of Noah, [while] an ark was being constructed, in which a few--that is, eight souls--were rescued through water.

And John testified, saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and remaining upon him.

And divided tongues like fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.

Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless someone is born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God."

Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
