Moses gave you the Law, didn't he? Yet none of you is keeping the Law. Why are you trying to kill me?"
Then some of the people of Jerusalem began saying, "This is the man they are trying to kill, isn't it?
At this, they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the Temple.
The disciples told him, "Rabbi, the Jewish leaders were just now trying to stone you to death, and you are going back there again?"
At that hour some Pharisees came and told Jesus, "Leave and get away from here, because Herod wants to kill you!"
But those farmers told one another, "This is the heir. Come on, let's kill him, and the inheritance will be ours!'
Pilate asked them, "Then what should I do with Jesus, who is called the Messiah?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!"
He asked, "What has he done wrong?" But they kept shouting louder and louder, "Let him be crucified!"
"Crucify him!" they shouted back. "Why?" Pilate asked them. "What has he done wrong?" But they shouted even louder, "Crucify him!"
When the high priests and the officials saw him, they shouted, "Crucify him! Crucify him!" Pilate told them, "You take him and crucify him. I find no basis for a charge against him."
Then they shouted, "Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" Pilate asked them, "Should I crucify your king?"
But they kept pressing him with loud shouts, demanding that Jesus be crucified, and their shouts began to prevail.
Then Jesus told them, "All of you will turn against me this very night, because it is written, "I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
