Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar, and go away; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Ye have heard that it was said, "Thou shalt not commit adultery." But I say to you, that whoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. But I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you; that ye may become sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye that excelleth? Do not even the heathen the same? Be ye therefore perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
But take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen by them; otherwise ye have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth;read more.

But do thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and, when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee. Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where the moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumeth, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For after all these things do the gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will also be given you.read more.

Ye may know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? So every good tree beareth good fruit; but a bad tree beareth bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor call a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that beareth not good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire. So then ye may know them by their fruits. Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in thy name, and in thy name cast out demons, and in thy name work many miracles? Every one then that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock; and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand; and the rain descended, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell; and great was its fall. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the multitudes were astonished at his teaching. For he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any one chooseth to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
And if thy hand or thy foot is causing thee to fall, cut it off, and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life maimed or lame, than having two hands, or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if thine eye is causing thee to fall, pluck it out, and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hellfire. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you, that their angels in heaven continually behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.
Moreover, if thy brother sin, go and reprove him between thee and him alone. If he listen to thee, thou hast gained thy brother; but if he do not listen, take with thee one or two more; that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he disregard them, tell the matter to the church; but if he disregard the church also, let him be to thee as a heathen and a publican.
Then came Peter, and said to him, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times? Jesus saith to him, I say not to thee, until seven times, but until seventy times seven.
And lo! one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have everlasting life? And he said to him, Why dost thou ask me concerning what is good? John said to him, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in thy name who followeth not us; and we forbade him, because he did not follow us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not. For no one, who shall do a miracle in my name, can readily speak evil of me.
And whoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe to fall away, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung round his neck, and be cast into the sea. And if thy hand cause thee to fall away, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having the two hands to go away into hell, into the fire that is unquenchable. And he said to them, Take heed and beware of all covetousness; for even when one hath great abundance, his life doth not depend upon his possessions.
A new commandment I give you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this will all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one for another.
Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; but if not, believe for the very works sake.
If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments;
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away; and every branch that beareth fruit he cleanseth, that it may bear more fruit.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, if it abide not in the vine, so neither can ye, unless ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit; for apart from me ye can do nothing.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever ye will, and it shall be done for you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and ye will become my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love.read more.
