The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding!

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God! They acted corruptly; they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.

I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; for He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints; but let them not turn again to folly.

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; all practicing them have good understanding; His praise stands forever.

Wisdom cries outside; she utters her voice in the streets; she cries in the chief place of gathering, in the openings of the gates; in the city she utters her words, saying, How long will you love simplicity, simple ones? And will scorners delight in their scorning? And will fools hate knowledge?read more.
Turn at my warning; behold, I will pour out my Spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I called, and you refused; I stretched out my hand, and no one paid attention; but you have despised all my advice, and would have none of my warning. I also will laugh at your trouble; I will mock when your fear comes; when your fear comes as a wasting away, and your ruin comes like a tempest when trouble and pain come upon you.

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge; but he who hates correction is like a brute animal.

A fool has no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may lay itself bare.

A beastly man does not know; nor does a fool understand this.

And they do not say in their heart, Let us now fear Jehovah our God, who gives both the former and the latter rain in its season; He reserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good from you.

He who trusts in his own heart is a fool; but whoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.

He who trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall blossom like a branch.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise.
