And if any man dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles the head of his separation, then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it. And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting. And the priest shall offer one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day.
And if one soul sins unwittingly, then he shall offer a she-goat a year old for a sin-offering. And the priest shall make atonement for the soul that errs, when he sins unwittingly, before LORD, to make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
For the law having a shadow of the good things that are coming, not the same substance of the events, with the same sacrifices that are offered continually each year, they are never able to fully perfect those who are approaching. Otherwise would they not have ceased being offered, because of those who worship, once having been cleansed, to have no further conscience of sins?
