Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ.

Join in imitating me, brothers, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us.

For you yourselves know how you must imitate us: We were not irresponsible among you; we did not eat anyone’s food free of charge; instead, we labored and struggled, working night and day, so that we would not be a burden to any of you. It is not that we don’t have the right to support, but we did it to make ourselves an example to you so that you would imitate us.

A woman should learn in silence with full submission.

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must learn to practice godliness toward their own family first and to repay their parents, for this pleases God.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you,

Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still;
teach a righteous man, and he will learn more.

a wise man will listen and increase his learning,
and a discerning man will obtain guidance—

The mind of the discerning acquires knowledge,
and the ear of the wise seeks it.

And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
