For just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to moral impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from allegiance to righteousness. So what fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. Galatians 5:16-24

I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. and my courage leaves me.

Isaiah 64:5-7

You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right;
they remember You in Your ways.

How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?

and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment;
all of us wither like a leaf,

For You have hidden Your face from us
and made us melt because of our iniquity.

Galatians 5:7-9

In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith from my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. The demons also believe—and they shudder. Foolish man! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless? Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was active together with his works, and by works, faith was perfected. So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, and he was called God’s friend. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by a different route? For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Romans 8:28-30
