And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw that the light was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

From the brightness of his presence, coals of fire were kindled. The LORD thundered from the heavens, and the most High uttered his voice; he sent out arrows and scattered them; he sent forth lightning, and consumed them.

By his sneezings lights are lit, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goes forth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.read more.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou dost visit him?

The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

His lightnings enlightened the world; the earth saw and trembled.

To him that made the great lights: for his mercy endures for ever: The sun to rule in the day: for his mercy endures for ever: The moon and stars to rule in the night: for his mercy endures for ever.

I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create evil: I am the LORD that does all this.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.

He appointed the moon for times and seasons; the sun knows his going down.

Who commands the sun, and it rises not; and seals up the stars.

Behold, he spreads his light upon it and covers the roots of the sea. For by them he judges the peoples; he gives food to the multitude. With the clouds he covers the light and commands them to come against the light.

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

that ye may be sons of your Father who is in the heavens, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the breach of his people and heals the stroke of their wound.

Then there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

And there appeared a great sign in the heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

and [he] was transfigured before them, and his face shined as the sun, and his raiment was as white as the light.

And six days afterwards Jesus took Peter and James and John, and separated them apart by themselves unto a high mountain; and he was transfigured before them.

And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, and a great cloud, and a fire enfolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

his body was like the stone of Tarsis turquoise, and his face as a bolt of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to brilliant brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of an army.

Therefore I have hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: that thy righteousness be as the light that goes forth.

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

For as the lightning, which shines from the region under heaven, shines in that which is under heaven; so also shall the Son of man be in his day.

who dost cover thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain,

And above the heaven that was over their heads was the figure of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the figure of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man seated upon it. And I saw something that looked like the colour of amber, that appeared to have fire round about within it, which could be seen from his loins upward; and from his loins downward, I saw what looked like fire, and it had brightness round about that looked like the bow of heaven that is in the clouds in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And I saw it and fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
